Our Approach: A research-driven, collaborative UI redesign
At TMT, we took a structured and research-based approach to the redesign:
- Understanding user needs & industry trends – We conducted R&D on similar interfaces, creating a mood board that reflected industry standards. Dark tones with bold accent colors emerged as a common design approach, which we adapted to fit SAPPHIRE’s brand.
- Designing an updated look & feel – Our web design team created a new version of the UI, maintaining its fixed layout and overall structure while updating colors and typography. We also explored an expanded version with enhanced functionality, a larger default screen size, expandable window options, tooltips, and textual overlays.
- Refining based on feedback – Through multiple rounds of amends, we incorporated client feedback, refining iconography and design while maintaining the colour palette.
- Providing flat designs for in-house development – We supplied SAPPHIRE with finalised flat design files in Adobe Illustrator, ensuring that in-house developers could accurately implement the new UI. These designs included detailed specifications for iconography, layout, and typography, enabling seamless integration into the software.
